what we Indian girls do before Deepavali

Well, shopping would be stating the obvious, ain't it.. This year, Prom finally decided to get her very own Punjabi costume. Val and i were glad enough to be her fashion escort.. and what better place than the Indian Bazaar that was on for the past weeks before Deepavali in KL Central.

i should've captured to hustle and bustle that was going on on my handy camera in that narrow alley that day.. but with the crowd and sweat and full hands with fresh coconut candy.. i rather not risk juggling. (u get my drift)..

after a long hunt for "the one" (2 pretty Karishma suits in fact)- the two of us (much to Val's annoyance with the heat, and the crowd and the sweat and the shopping bags..) decided to get ourselves our much anticipated Mehendi (Henna tattoo to some of ya'll)..

Finally, a chair!

the ladies were really quick with their work - very impressive judging by the detailed intricate job they had done on our hands..
why hands?? well.. It is usually drawn on the hands and feet, where the designs will last the longest due to the fact that it only penetrates the dead cells of the *ahem*..stratum corneum.. (not bad eh, vic.. heehee).. anyways, i think they're the prettiest there. maketh the hand more unique, no? and i couldn't have possibly did my feet in the middle of KL Central, could i.. hahahaha...

my Mehendi lasted for exactly one week.. it depends on the "body heat" too they say. wonder how long prom's lasted :)
