tuesday trouble

Today’s Tuesday - my 8-and-a-half-hour-class day. Never really looked forward to it, especially the night slot which will drag on till 9.30 pm. Little did I expect it to be DIFFERENT today. Thanks to my klutzy clumsy self.

Left the apartment in a rush as usual. Somehow, no matter how much earlier I start getting ready for college, I’ll always end up late. So, like most Tuesdays, instead of waiting for the bus, I decided to hail a cab to the station. I’ve already hopped on the taxi when I noticed this cute dude signaling me to stop (I noticed him before-he lives in my condo). He was on his way to the station as well and asked whether we could go together. (What the heck la, I thought. Cheaper fare). So yea, he got in. and we chat.. Friendly guy.. We finally reached the station, and he insisted on paying full. I declined, of course.. digging for my wallet. Started to panic (not because he paid the fare) I couldn’t find my wallet!

Oh my gawd!”... *flash* I pictured my wallet on the comp – I left it there in my haste this morning. Shoot…

“You left your wallet??” he said in his Pakistani drool. I don’t remembering answering him, but I think I kept saying “oh my gawd.. oh my gawd” like an idiot. Apologized for not paying my share and told him I’d had to take a bus home (I had coins in my pocket).

Guess what the dude did – he took out 10 bucks and told me to use it first. “happened to me before.. don’t worry.. no need to go back”.

I was like – huhh?? No no no.. Er.. really?? Oh.. Thank you so much.

Took his number and we continued on to the LRT together.

I was still shocked. I couldn’t imagine how it would have been if he didn’t stop the taxi earlier on. I would have gotten all to the way to the station alone, wif out any cash!! Clumsy ol sho..

So the whole day I spent only ten bucks. Hoped my luck wouldn’t get any worse – cos at times like these, my usual self will imagine the craziest possible scenarios *stopped by officer, sent to jail for not having my IC*... On the contrary, it might have been my lucky stars that “the dude” hopped on my taxi this morning. Ended up not using more cash, & more importantly, made a new friend J

Came home, true enough, my good ol wallet was nicely sitting on the computer.

Told justin what happened. “if you were alone, just ask the taxi to send you home. Can pay him after taking your wallet..” oh.. ya.. right.. (it happened to him before too – minus meeting a friendly good looking chap) =P
