~i had to speed up finishing the Kitchen God's Wife when i saw Harry Potter on Sathya's table when i came home. So far, two of the best books i've read this year.. lol~ Posted by Picasa

Yet Another Potter-riffic Adventure!

i don't understand why the papers gave it such a nasty review. To me, JKRowling succeeded, once more, in getting me hooked from cover to cover. The Half Blood Prince's my most satisfying read this hols (& this is not only based on the fact that i'm her No.1 fan, k..)

i knew someone was to die this year.. but i honestly didn't expect it to be HIM! so sad.. so tragic la.. Yes, i cried. Anybody would've.. unless ur Voldermort himself.. or one of the DeathEaters..

Harry Potter was a lil more subtle this time(except for my fav character dying). Not much of a rollercoaster ride as compared to Chamber of Secrets and The Philosopher's Stone.. But i thought it was appropriate - wouldn't be just boring and simply predictable if Harry had to face Voldermort again.. & fight.. and survived, again? It was fun reading bout the guys at Hogwarts in their 6th year, with new s~p~e~l~l~s, new incantations, new MaGiC! and this year, Harry and Ron finally got to snog someone.. haha.. They've all grown up! some things however didn't change.. Rowling's sense of humor.. so witty, and sharp.. and sarcastic. oh, i love her style. she's simply the best story teller ever.

My only dissapointment was that i had to end the book.. i just can't wait for the next one. Being the seventh and final episode, bet it's going to be the best!

till here for now... toodles~

Hazey Daze

The haze’s in its worst state so far today. Visibility’s alarmingly low. I could hardly see the Mamak Food Court opposite my apartment from my window. Noticed some Samaritans along the pavement with their mouthpieces on. The sky, the air, the people and the smelly smoky smell reminds me of the after effect of an atomic bomb scene in a movie.. or was it from a figment of my imagination.. anyways, all these seems so unreal.

In fact it’s extremely unhealthy. Was thinking twice bout putting on my mouth piece this morning... lol.. yes, I bought..(Bought it during the SARS disease actually) I didn’t wear la. Shy, embarrass.. vain. ( and yet I’m still complaining) but seriously, by the time I reach my office this past 6 days, my throat would be so parched and dry.. Felt like I was breathing in air thick with dust, literally. And my eyes would be so stingy the moment I step out.*whine.. whine.. whine..*

Newspaper stated the air pollution index went up to 424 last night. maybe it'll reach 500 by this evening.. i won't be surprise. Then "Darurat"! wow... exactly like war, man.ok, some of ya'll might think i'm taking this a lil too seriously.. like the London Attack.. i practically panicked.. but, honestly, pple..we're in the middle of history in the making.. not bad wat..
but no lar.. lets not hope for "darurat".. not this weekend.. maybe on mon?? haha.. then the others won't have to go to work. (see how compassionate i am? ) *vomit*.. going to Langkawi on Sun.. heard there's no haze there.. so i'm guessing the air index would be around 39? good.. haven't seen clear blue sky in a week! how pathetic.

ok, i have to go.. condo's CC charges ridiculously high by the hr..
i'm out...

Dear Bloggers,

it's the 10th..i'm writing this into a disket in the office.. (wat to do.. no internet connection).. anyways, its 3 days before I end my job as a 2 months attachment student in Lam Wai Tze & Co. My table’s piled up with files to amend and follow up. New files (I’m happy... new case!)

Miss Lam’s been giving me a lot of new stuff to learn these past 2 weeks. Maybe intentionally, maybe just my luck. Who knows how that crafty mind of hers works? No matter what, I thank her. I find joy in learning something new at work. It’s like opening a new door to a world of fun adventure... ok, not really that exciting.. just that doing something new makes my day more pleasurable.

Today I had to handle yet another frustrated client and found out that there’s a Tribunal for consumers to claim compensation for any unsatisfactory services. A previous client managed to claim RM2,000.00 in a very short period of time, for a domestic trip that did not go accordingly as planned. RM2000.00! wow.. Consumer IS sovereign.. and yesterday, miss lam tested my patience and grilled my brain up by making me draft out facts of a 1 year old case for the Court. It sure did work my brain up well.. Ended up with a massive headache at the end of the day.

Speaking of headaches, Miss Lam’s back from court. Got to go!

I’m back..

Looking back, these 8 weeks in a law firm has been an awesome experience, especially here- Lam Wai Tze & Co... Being a small firm and the fact that Miss Lam concentrates more on General Litigation issues and a lil bit of Conveyancing under Kak Niza’s guidance, I got the opportunity to put my finger in every sort of pie- I managed to get exposed to many different types of cases ranging from Divorce issues to the minor Property transfers. Frustrations do occur on certain days, no doubt. At times I’d quietly complain on the silliest stuff I had to do-filling up pages and pages of simple banking forms. Clients can be so pampered. Why don’t they just save money by filling them up themselves??

So, will I be doing this again next hols? I don’t think so... Maybe something more challenging – Press department! That would definitely be another interesting experience.

Till here for now. Back to work.
