Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas …

Is a good ol’ fashioned piano.. Digital piano back home ain’t exactly that bad.. but it’s back home. And you can never compare a classic upright piano with an electrical one. The resonant sound.. the solid, firm keys.. the smell of fresh wood.. the heavy pedals.. and nothing beats the ones made in Japan. Kawai pianos have a certain quality in its sound. And the soft look.. a baby like that sitting in my hall.. simply beautiful.

But if that just can’t do, Santa (for whatever reasons that may be..) maybe a slick white iPod? So slick and cute it’ll look almost like a bar of sumptuous white chocolate. The Apple iPod Shuffle 512 MB is actually the size of a man’s finger! How cool can that be…

Then again, Santa.. I think I’m in a more dire need of a camera. Canon Powershot A520, 4Mp!! Small enough to fit into my cristmas stoking.. Pweetty Please….

One final request. This Christmas, Santa.. could u please kindly throw in something extra for me? U know, little little pressies as a token for my exceptionally good behaviour this year.. judging by your usual work load and all, I decided to list some stuff for u to chose from.

The complete 1st series of Lost. I’ve been missing so many series!

The Chronicles of Narnia. The movie was awesome.. I’m sure the book’s spectacular

An easel. U ignored this last year.

Thanks Santa.

Luv, sho

P/s: 1) the boxing gloves last Christmas fitted perfectly
2) please send my love to Mrs. Clause

From the War Drobe in the Spare Oom

"Narnia? What's that?" said Lucy.
"This is the land of Narnia," said the Faun, "where we are now; all that lies between the lamp-post and the great castle of Cair Paravel on the Eastern Sea. . . ."
“What a big wardrobe…” Lucy whispered.
—The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Narnia was beautiful.. right up from the storyline to the mythical creatures of Narnia. Even the set was awesome. Definitely my next favourite movie after HP.

Would love to go on my usual self and give away every magical bit of the movie.. but, not this time.

Two Thumbs up!

picture perfect

found this on "tv smith", and i thot it was super cool. the author managed to capture Peninsular Malaysia in the clouds.. Thought of showing it off to my fellow bloggers =) ..
"As I was photographing some migratory birds in Bangi today, a grim layer of clouds descended. Bludgeoned blue retreated as swirling white sparred with turbulent black. An awesome scene unfolded before my eyes. God was drawing Malaysia. Before the island of Borneo became properly etched, He tossed his easel impulsively. It spilled rain, life and death onto the land below. The monsoon is here."© 2005 TV SMITH Posted by Picasa

bye bye my messy pile

Behold part of my messy Fortress. Actually, it looks much better in the picture (how "photogenic"!) (.. the worse part of my room really is behind the camera =S).. No wonder i can never seem to concentrate whenever i'm behind that table..
Anyways, I've decided that to usher in the new year, the posters will definitely have to go.. and i would think the best new yr resolution at this moment would be to maintain a tidy room.. no, wait.. table. yeah, tidy table.. so, there.

truth .. =P revealed

she's not chinese..she's malay.. and it was actually conducted in June this year.. and she's pregnant...(anywayz, tht's beside the point.. is it?)

wat am i talking about? i'm yapping about the nude ear-squating "episode" at the PJ lockup, videoed via a handphone & which succesfully caught the media's attention early this month..

as reported in
The Sun this morning, "The woman depicted doing nude ear-squats while in police detention only found out that her strip search was captured on video when she saw the 71-second clip over television news".... tsk, tsk, tsk..poor lady(identity not revealed, obviously). embarrased, traumatised, hurt, angry.. abused. all thnx to *&^%# of a police woman Lance Corporal Wan Zawati Wan Ismail..

wat was on her mind when she ordered the detainee to strip?? sick! wat was in it for her?? she obviosly knew the lady was being videoed.. "normal procedure" it seems.. again, i'm doubtful.. is it??

when do we actually practice strip searches?
i checked out Screenshots, and it got my question answered..

"ACP Mohd Hazam insisted yesterday that only those detained for drug-related offences, serious offences and also those arrested in entertainment outlets would be subjected to this procedure".

Q:How about those suspected of passport and visa offences who allegedly were subjected to strip-search and ear-squating?
ACP Mohd Hazam : women nabbed at night-spots could be required to do nude squats..it's not a written rule.. but i understand it is a procedure followed by policemen (or.. er.. policewomen =P) throughout the country

now, why aren't we shocked??
i guess videoing would be the latest "procedure" as well..
humph!

now can somebody just tell us the truth?!?

WITH GREAT POWER, comes great creativity~

December already.. end of the year already.. 4 months of college already... christmas displays prettily decorate shop windows already.. trials around the bend already.. oh, time please slow down, already!

like a lighted lamp.. i feel so.. drained. Burning wif intensity, but yet slowly dying... very much aware that in no time, when the fuel runs out, i'm a goner.

Time is of the essence!

"if only time could just be in a stand still", we whine.. "if only there's more than 24 hours to a day!", i yell..

but then again..

wat if tht lamp gets filled.. i guess i won't have to worry about being drained. no worries on fading or losing out.. yeah.. i'll fill my lamp. i'll optimise my time.. be resourceful out of life and keep the "fire" going..

wait a minute.. Wat am i saying?! i'm the lamp.. Somebody has to fill ME up.. somebody has to keep me going.. i can't go on all alone..wat?? wat does this mean? i'm so confused..

i think i'll just crawl to bed wif my Practical Guide of Evidence.. maybe Michael Allen'll comfort me.. maybe.. *crap*

scenes from the Goblet of Fire...
cosy comfy Weasley tent at the Quidditch Cup..as Harry said in awe "I love magic!"

Hermione, Ron and Harry all grown up

Katie Leung as Cho Chang, Harry's crush.. (ooh, can't wait for nxt movie!)

Robert Pattinson as the smart, heroic, handsome Cedric Diggory.. =)

poor Patel twins.. this scene got me in stitches

Ralph Fiennes, giving He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named a face

a Muggle's thoughts..

- Do the Hogwarts toilet really empty to the lake? Don’t the merpeople object?
- Why did everyone turned up to watch the 2nd and 3rd task when no one could see a thing?

I pondered these questions while reading the book a long time ago & the movie reminded me about it all over again.. i surfed online to check out Rowling’s interviews..and still didn’t get any answers. Maybe it’s up to our imagination and patience in hoping to get the answers in the upcoming books... all these loopholes and questions, even Jo Rowling herself admits tht they are there, and tht she does make mistakes. I guess it’s inevitable.. esp when u have to do series after series.. however, I’m still giving her credit for her high efforts in consistency.. incantations, spells, plots..

Some of u might have noticed tht in the book, when Harry and Voldermort’s wands met(during the reverse spell effect thingy) at the graveyard, Lily Potter's image was the last to appear. We all know the souls tht came out of the wands appeared in backward order of when they got killed by Voldermort.. this shows tht there was a slight mistake in showing that Lily died before James. For we all know Lily died protecting Harry from Voldermort.. I’m glad tht in the movie, this confusion was cleared when Lily appeared before James instead…

Overall, the movie was a blast! The effects were breathtakingly real.. and I could almost swear I felt the hot breath of the Horntail Dragon.. and when there was snow, I shivered.. (must bring jacket to GSC One Utama, people).. nothing to complain really.. like I said in my pervious post, I can’t expect every bit of the book to be slotted in a 2 ½ hr movie.. I suppose the time factor made them not introduce Barty Crouch’s elf, Winky (who, in the book, helped Harry realize tht Bart Crouch Senior been hiding his son the whole time).. the episode at the Quiditch match was clearly cut short.. and the horrifying time when the death eaters attacked, didn’t really seem tht horrifying on screen.

However, Cedric is just too cute for words! I think he’s a lookalike of JuliaRoberts hunky co-star in My Best Friends Wedding.. perfect for the role! Cho Chang was as sweet looking as I imagined her to be.. her accent disturbed me tho.. anyways, JK rowling actually cried while writing the ending of Book 4.. when asked about the sad ending she quoted tht if she has to write about evil, she should have enough respect for children to show them wat it means.. “readers must take note tht this powerful ending brings about a VERY important event…”.. no exaggeration there..

When Dumbledore exhorts the students to remember Cedric in the book… I cried while reading it. in the movie, it didn't fail to touch me once again.. yeah.. soppy soppy me..

In short, yesterday’s trip to the movies to celebrate Mun Mun’s birthday was a well spent one.. hope u enjoyed the movie, mun.. I for one, clearly obviously, naturally, really really did.. and u don’t need any veritaserum to make me say that..

Fully Booked!

I call myself their biggest fan, but i still haven't got to see them in action in The Goblet of Fire... tickets are (as expected) selling out at top speed. GSC at One U even took this opportunity to mark up their last few seats for RM35! .. i must say, even as a Potter fan, 35 bucks per seat is simply Outrages ..Due to late bookings(3 days before hand), odd hr/day classes, and tix price made us cancel our trip to the cinema on sat.. =(

however, here's a confession. i'm kinda afraid to catch it on theaters. Afraid tht i'll be dissapointed, tht is..

last experience during The Prisoner of Azkaban, despite the fact tht it WAS good.. Lyn and i couldn't stop complaining on how "simple" the whole thing was on screen... it didn't really show off Rowling's creativity to the maximum.. and we were a lil dissapointed by the fact tht Choo Chang did not make an appearence.. and tht Sirius Black wasn't as JohnnyDepp-ish looking as we had imagined him to be.. i guess the Brits ran out of good (both talent and looks) actors to play the part. and no director can slot in the whole book in a few hours of a movie... but, OooOhh, THEY MUST! i honestly don't mind sitting in the theater the whole day if i have to.. as long as every, itsy bitsy detail of the book appears on screen.. just for the sake of those who hadn't read the book-not for me.. i have it all envisioned in my head already.. thnx to Rowling.. JKRowling IS a genius..

Back to the Goblet of Fire, i dunno whether i should lower down my expectations this time around (would tht be traitorous??)..

wat am i saying?! heck, i'm just going to go and watch Harry kick Voldermort's black (i think) rotten ass.. an exact replica of the book or not, the movie has already hit top 3 in moviecharts round the world! ~Way-to-go, Mike Newell!!~

~temptation is just a word~ (prom.d)

-Tattooes?-

*tempted in getting HIGH?*

Temptation as depicted by the masters

...michelangelo's Temptation and Fall at the Sistine Chapel

What is your biggest temptation?

temptation (n.), incitement esp. to sin, attractive thing or course of action, putting to the test.

Like a pack of cigarettes to a smoker; like a sumptious, rich, mouthwatering chocolate cake to a dieter! temptation lures us to do things we truly desire. "Seducing" us almost every day of our lives.

why do we get tempted? why must it be a sin? i can't think of any positive temptations at the moment.. maybe because there aren't any?

maybe it's true.. Temptation is just a word, a "scapegoat" for many as a simple, easy excuse, to divert the blame of their actions. Or is it just something for the weak hearted and those who have no will-power? Posted by Picasa

from the DEE to the PA and the VALI

already a week since coll started after deeparaya hols..went back to college.. attended the 32nd International FIDA Convention by International Federation of Women Lawyers the whole week and i still can't forget how much fun i had during hols. being back home was utter JOY! when was it ever not so?? :) plus the fact tht it was deepavali.. come to think of it, JOY seems like an understatement. OH, I MISS HOME!

deepavali ambience back home was extra beautiful.. lamps were already lit by the time i got home (2 days before divali itself), deco, the works. mum did most of the preparations by the time i arrived-right from putting up tents, cleaning, to shopping for our long list of delicacies(she decided to cook this yr.. haha).. her enthusiasm was just simply infectious. sometimes i wonder where does she get all tht energy to prepare this every yr... open hse at my place never was a tea and cookie kinda thing. Luncheons@ High tea@ dinner... this yr, due to the Ramadan period, we decided to do all 3! (if some of u are having blank stares right now, lemme clarify really quickly-lunch for non-muslims; dinner for mostly muslim frenz) so yeah.. like i said.. TENTS were up..

[i planned to put up some pix for this entry. but alas, reader reads SD chips only. =S]

so here's where i'll apologise to ling ling.. i know u've been waiting to have sneak peeks on this yr's celebration, cuz... i blame all these on the comp back home and the faulty internet connection... ok, ok.. i should've known the chip-reader tht i have in KL doesn't read papa's sony chip.. Arrggghhh!~

=( sorry

wait patiently, dear

"why suddenly the ranting on deepavali...??"

yea.. weird huh.. me and my random thots lar. besides, like i said earlier.. I MISS HOME...

aww... btw, i think my sugar-level got up 60% this yr. fat? hmmm... don't get me started

just for fun..part 1

i was looking thru my pictures on the pc.. still feeling a lil piss off wif the fact tht my camera got stolen (my fault for presuming the library's bag area is safe).. I MISS IT SO MUCH!
out of the blue, i decided to compile funny snapshots of sham and thya.. and close buddies.. Funny how i can find pleasure in doing the simplest things

i can't help but smile whenever i look at this collage...

-moot of the day-

My learned senior counsel, Mr. Justin Tan and i managed bring our asses up to 2nd round of the moots. wat an experience - the late nite sleep ( basically due to work on the 11th hour, mind u), getting bombarded by the ever so intimidating Mr. Murali on the 1st round.. and having gorgeous, sultry, Miss Mary George on the 2nd, clammy sweaty palms before both "hearings", the tension of not making a fool out of urself! .. thnx to Moots, i haven't finish any of my assignments these 2 weeks! i'm actually simply amazed by the very fact tht i finally have a proper excuse for handing them in late. ha!

till next yr's competition begins.. for now, i think 2 rounds did quite enough for me (well, not tht i have a choice..lol)
To, justin.. moi had fun being ur partner in crime.
congrats for winning the wild card entry, pal! anticipating to the days where u'll be sleeping at 3 a.m. to prepare your submissions... while i slumber on like a pig. what else can a humble housemate do?

i qoute justin's infamous reply to Lady Justice Mary George at the moots this morning..:

"I was preparing for an ugly case, however i didn't expect to have a beautiful judge"

Justin, u perve!

thnx for the pix, Vic~

..To My Old souL..

On a Monday, I am waiting
Tuesday, I am fading
And by Wednesday, I can't sleep
Then the phone rings, I hear you
And the darkness is a clear view
Cuz you've come to rescue me
Fall... With you, I fall so fast
I can hardly catch my breath, I hope it lasts
Ohhhhh...It seems like I can finally rest my head on something real
I like the way that feels
Ohhhhh...It's as if you know me better than I ever knew myself
I love how you can tell
All the pieces, pieces, pieces of me
I am mOoDy, messy
I get restless, and it's senseless
How you never seem to care
When I'm angry, you listen
Make me happy it's your mission
And you won't stop til I'm there
Fall... Sometimes I fall so fast
When I hit that bottom Crash, you're all I have
How do you know everything I'm about to say?
Am I that obvious?
And if it's written on my face...
I hope it never goes away...
On a Monday, I am waiting
And by Tuesday, I am fading into your arms...
So I can breathe
Ohhhhh...It seems like I can finally rest my head on something real
I like the way that feels
Ohhhhh...It's as if you've know me better than I ever knew myself
I love how you can tell
All the pieces, pieces, pieces of me ..

How Fast Can U Go?

Speeding along the highway..zooming past cars and buildings... with the wind in ur hair.. against ur face. pushing it out of contortions, making u make funny faces.
Wat makes us push ourselves to the limit? wat makes us love the speed? the rush of adrenalin, the euphoria, that feeling of freedom and liberty.. just like my dreams when i was much younger- running at top speed.. so fast
that your feet seem to be off the ground. The next thing you know ur flying!
